Most importantly we will be there to insure that players are safe and having fun in a sport they love.
Players are always looking to advance their skill and conditioning in the summer and during the season, we are always available to provide advice on how to improve certain aspects of their game. Normally each team will have an in season workout program for it’s players, but if needed we will provide a program that is tailored to their specific needs.
Player Placement
Knowing all the options and finding the best situation for players individual needs are just a couple things that players need to consider when planning their future. Our P/P service understands that the process of getting to the junior hockey and beyond takes more than skill and conditioning often players need help gaining initial interest from organizations. Many players and their parents look to us for help with attending try-outs and general understanding of different leagues.
*All players that have attended one of our programs are eligible to use our
Junior Placement and Promotion service. We know our clients very well, as a rule we do not Place or Promote players that have not trained with us.
PLAYER PLACEMENT: Our staff has vast amounts of experience and contacts throughout the hockey world, this helps us find players opportunities they would not have had otherwise. Players will be directed to reputable organizations in leagues appropriate to their skill level. It is crucial to place players in leagues that are challenging enough for the individual and have a proven record of developing players for the next level. All aspects of the organizations we deal with are taken into consideration including Coaching, Management, and Facilities as well as living accommodations (Billet Family).
CAREER PATH: All Scanlon Creek P/P clients receive a folder which includes helpful information about Junior Hockey and a detailed description of your (Career Path). Players are encouraged to discuss what they believe they can achieve on a yearly basis. Through these discussions we can make an achievable plan for players to reach their goals. Players’ Career Paths are not set in stone; they simply provide us and the players a constructive agreement to work from. Players often try to advance in hockey by going to various tryouts with teams in superior leagues before they are ready. This method rarely works and players end up confused and depressed. We advise players to show great success in the leagues they are playing in, before they consider advancing to superior leagues. When a player is obviously outplaying the competition, we will do everything we can to promote that player to the next appropriate step in their Career Path.
PLAYER PROFILES: Players have online player profiles that act as a personal resumes for athletic and, academic achievements. These profiles are available to view on our web site during the season to promote scouting interest.
SECURITY: If a player is traded or released we will be there to take control of the situation insuring that the player’s best interest is the priority. Parents of players who are playing far from home can be confident that someone is making sure their children are safe as well as providing advice throughout the season.

NCAA Promotion
Getting noticed by NCAA scouting is not as easy as it may seem, you would think that you just have to play your best and the schools will come and get you. This is true for the very few Division 1 stars that everyone wants. There are many excellent players that go unnoticed by Scouting simply because they didn’t know you were there. Many Schools have a very limited Scouting budget that does not allow them to travel far and watch many games. We are here to help player’s gain initial interest the rest is up to you.
NCAA PLAYER PROMOTION: We do not send mass e-mails to various schools with players profiles, nearly all of these e-mails are never looked at. We prefer to pick appropriate schools for the player’s academic interests and talent level, and then contact the staff personally to inform them of a player they should be interested in.
NCAA CLEARINGHOUSE ELIGIBILITY: Scanlon Creek Management will review your academic history to determine the required SAT/ ACT score to be eligible to participate in NCAA hockey and for admission into the player’s preferred institution.
